A 16 year old in a Range Rover killed Ryo Uchimiya on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu on October 3, 2026. Uchimiya was 51. He worked at Nobu Malibu. He got there early for his shift and fell asleep in his car, parked on the shoulder near 22600 PCH, by Carbon Canyon Road. Just before 7 a.m. the teen was driving east. His gray Range Rover crossed the fog line and slammed into the parked car. Uchimiya died at the scene. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies say the boy stayed and cooperated. No sign of alcohol or drugs. Investigators think he was speeding. Cause is still open. No charges yet.
